Catching Courage

“Women, I believe, search for fellow beings who have faced similar struggles, conveyed them in ways a reader can transform into her own life, confirmed desires the reader had hardly acknowledged—desires that now seem possible. Women can catch courage from the women whose lives and writings they read, and women call the bearer of that courage friend.”  Carolyn Heilbrun, The Last Gift of Time

A wonderful source of inspiration is Joanna Macy. Check out her memoirs “Widening Circles”, and she has a web site. She’s facilitating spiritual social change workshops at 80.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ruth. That Joanna Macy is still doing this work at 80 is one more reason to get up in the morning with a smile on my face. I’ll put a link on Catching Courage.

hello dearest heart: I loved the smile box on Tatjana!! I wanted to share my favourite quote on courage:
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’ ” – Mary Anne Radmacher

“I will try again tomorrow.” Beautiful! And so right for anything difficult or troubling in our lives.
