An answer in the lake

Clouds lay heavy over the lake, just at sunset. When I looked at the photograph on my computer, I realized it was like a sky sandwich, gold-tipped clouds framed by hills and sky. I liked that so posted it to Facebook.

One of my favourite writers, the very gifted Marilyn Raymond (examples of whose exquisite poems are sprinkled throughout this blog), weighed in with a haiku that made me sit up straight and say, “Yes!” She has given permission for me to post it here.

Sky-sandwich

except I should have said ‘evening sky’ rats. It is a beautiful picture. We’re so lucky to live where we do. I appreciate your photographs, they make me feel connected to home in a very warming way.
